George Santos Latest News: Congressman Accused of Making Crude Jokes About Hitler, Jews and Blacks on Facebook

George Santos: The Impostor in Congress | On the ground
George Santos is now accused of mocking Hitler and killing Jews and blacks in a resurfaced Facebook post — marking the latest scandal to hit the congressman-elect.
In a 2011 Facebook comment obtained by Patch, Mr Santos allegedly wrote: “hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitlerrrrrrrrr (high hitler) lololololololololololololol someone kill her!! jews and blacks mostly lolllolol!!! Dam.
Mr. Santos’ former roommate confirmed to the publication the validity of the account and said the congressman often made anti-Semitic comments. An attorney for Mr. Santos told Patch that the Facebook post was “completely false.”
The claim comes after the congressman has already been caught lying about being Jewish and that his grandparents fled the Holocaust. He later denied the claims, saying he was “Jewish”.
In addition to being exposed in a series of lies during his campaign, Mr. Santos is also under scrutiny over an amended financial disclosure form he filed with the FEC this week. For starters, there are two loans – for $500,000 and $125,000 – that are no longer identified as coming from Mr. Santos’ personal funds as they were before.
Santos’ ex-roommate claims he threatened to send her ‘back to Brazil’
A former flatmate of Mr Santos claimed he threatened to send her back to Brazil when she confronted him about stealing her jewelery and money.
Roommate Adriana Parisi said Mother Jones that Mr. Santos “made it very clear that I was in his country … and at any moment if I opened my mouth he could send me back to Brazil.”
The 55-year-old woman told the store that she bought the tickets for the pair to fly to New York in February 2011.
“He had no money to come back and I was the way for him to leave Brazil,” she said.
“He was always convincing people that it was all a big misunderstanding,” she added.
Mr Santos denied the allegations.
“Everybody that’s ever wanted to come for me is coming for me and doing stupid things along the way and I’m looking forward to punching holes in all these people who are making these crazy accusations without any supporting evidence — because it’s false,” he said New York Times.

An offensive social media post from 12 years ago is causing outrage
George Santos is facing heavy criticism after a social media comment from 12 years ago was exposed by Patch.
Mr Santos was commenting on a photo posted by a friend on Facebook in March 2011 showing what appeared to be a greeting with the caption “kind of like Hitler”.
“Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii jews and blacks mostly lolllolol!!! Dum,” Mr Santos wrote.
This is what his lawyer Joseph Murphy said patch, “The Facebook comment you refer to… is completely false, absolutely disgusting – absolutely nothing to discuss.”
“This guy went from ‘I’m Jewish and my family died in the Holocaust’ to mocking Jews, the Holocaust and praising Hitler. Frankly, his lie and mockery come from the same anti-Semitism and Jew-hatred – and @SpeakerMcCarthy proudly stands behind this anti-Semitism,” Qasim Rashid tweeted.
“Okay, at this point it has to be asked. Are we sure George Santos isn’t the Zodiac Killer? I’m just waiting for that shoe to drop,” Alejandra Caraballo added.
“We are disgusted to learn that Congressman George Santos, who lied about being Jewish during his campaign, has previously posted vile comments about Adolf Hitler and Jews and blacks,” Stop Antisemitism wrote.

FEC sends letter to Santos campaign demanding answers after treasurer change
The Federal Election Commission sent a letter to the Santos campaign requesting more information about documents submitted showing a new treasurer who claims he never accepted the job.
Thursday’s letter said Mr. Santos’ campaign “may have failed to include true, accurate or complete treasurer information” in documents filed Wednesday showing Thomas Detweiler as its new treasurer and custodian of the records.
Five separate fundraising committees received the same letter after they also sent documents showing Mr. Datwyler as their new treasurer.
The committees and the campaign have until March 2 to respond.
The FEC’s letter said that if they were found to have provided a “materially false, fictitious or fraudulent statement or representation” on the filings, they could face criminal charges.

Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mays Calls for George Santos to Resign: ‘This Man Doesn’t’
GOP Rep. Nancy Mays of South Carolina criticized embattled fellow GOP Rep. George Santos of New York and said he had to resign.
The South Carolina Republican spoke with The Independent in an exclusive interview.
“I mean, if you look at the allegations about his campaign finance, there are serious problems there,” she said.
Specifically, federal prosecutors are investigating irregularities in financial disclosures and loans, according to NBC News. “Nothing he ever said turned out to be true.”
“He should resign, but he won’t, and if you’re watching the press nitpick, chase him around Capitol Hill, he loves the attention,” she said. “He smiles and giggles and just soaks it up.”

Santos dodges questions about treasurer listed on forms who says he didn’t work for campaign
George Santos escaped questioning Thursday after the man listed as his treasurer claimed he did not work for the New York congressman.
The latest issue, noted by reporters with ABC News on Thursday, stems from documents that several fundraising committees working on behalf of the Santos 2022 campaign have filed with the agency detailing a change in the person appointed as the committees’ treasurer. Those committees are now listed as financial operations controlled by Thomas Detweiler, a longtime political campaign finance specialist.
But there’s just one problem: Mr. Datwyler flatly told ABC News that he was not working for the Santos campaign and had in fact informed them of this prior to the FEC filing: “On Monday, we informed the Santos campaign that Mr. Datwyler will not serve as treasurer,” Mr Datwyler’s lawyer Derek Ross said.

George Santos claims that Epstein may still be alive in a 2020 interview
Republican Congressman George Santos said in August 2020 that Jeffrey Epstein “could still be alive,” one year after the pedophile killed himself in his Manhattan jail cell.
In a newly emerged interview, Mr Santos – who has already been caught for several lies about his past, background and family – claimed to have met Epstein several times and pushed the conspiracy theory that he had been “murdered” in prison.
Epstein was found dead in his cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial for child sex trafficking. His death was ruled a suicide.
Mr Santos has since given up on his death entirely, claiming he may in fact still be alive.
“I wouldn’t forget that he’s still walking around us and we’re all like, ‘Oh my God, the guy’s alive’ and we can’t tell,” he said. “You know what, it’s 2020, anything can happen.

Brazilian man claiming to be Santos’ ex-boyfriend says congressman was only interested in ‘fame and power’
A Brazilian man who claimed to be the ex-boyfriend of Representative George Santos appeared on CNN and said that Mr. Santos had only ever been interested in “fame and power” and that he expected him to continue to reject calls for his resignation.
Pedro Villarva has previously said he became romantically involved with Mr Santos in 2014 when he was just 18 and the future congressman was 26 – and that their relationship was fraught with dishonesty on the part of to Mr. Santos.
The Republican, elected to the US House of Representatives in November and sworn in earlier this month, has faced an avalanche of allegations that he lied about various aspects of his identity and past and engaged in questionable campaign finance practices.
