WASHINGTON—The Biden administration is poised to send a significant number of Abrams M1 tanks to Ukraine, settlement of a rift which threatened the unity of the pro-Ukraine alliance a pivotal moment in the warUS officials said.
The move, which could be announced as soon as Wednesday, will be part of a wider diplomatic understanding with Germany in which Berlin would agree to send a smaller number than its own Leopard 2 tanks and will approve the delivery of more German-made tanks from Poland and other countries.
